Rob Lowe Evacuated Home Amidst 'Armageddon'-Like Wildfire

A California wildfire forced Rob Lowe to evacuate his Montecito home in a scene the actor described as "just like Armageddon."

Lowe told a local TV station he and his son were watching football Thursday night when his wife called to warn him about the raging fire, reports L.A.'s CBS 2 / KCAL 9. Lowe said he and his children exited their home only to find surrounding mountains ablaze, an inferno whipped into the sky by 70-mph winds.

The 44-year-old star said his house made it through the fire unscathed. Other Montecito residents, though, weren't as lucky. Buildings on the property of 'Back to the Future' star Christopher Lloyd took heavy damage in the fire, says the Los Angeles Times.

A second major wildfire around L.A. County is also making headlines. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency Saturday morning.

Is Joe Jonas Explaining Break-Up With Taylor Swift?

Joe Jonas recently made news when ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift went public with details about her break-up with the teen sensation. Now, Joe is setting the record straight about a recent, widely-publicized split!

In a new blog on the Jonas Brothers' MySpace page, Joe writes to fans hoping to clear the air about a headline-grabbing break-up with an unnamed person. Joe's ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift recently talked about splitting with the famous teen -- saying on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that Joe ended their relationship with a phone call lasting less than 30 seconds. Taylor also recently told US Weekly that she and Joe split because he started dating actress Camilla Belle.

On his band's MySpace blog, Joe writes:

"I never cheated on a girlfriend. It might make someone feel better to assume or imply I have been unfaithful but it is simply not true. Maybe there were reasons for a breakup. Maybe the heart moved on. Perhaps feelings changed. I am truly saddened that anything would potentially cause you to think less of me."

He goes on to say: "For those who have expressed concern over the "27 second" phone call. I called to discuss feelings with the other person. Those feelings were obviously not well received. I did not end the conversation. Someone else did. Phone calls can only last as long as the person on the other end of the line is willing to talk. A phone call can be pretty short when someone else ends the call. The only difference in this conversation was that I shared something the other person did not want to hear."

Joe finishes the blog by wishing the "other person" well and expressing appreciation for his fans.
